Two of my Saturday Students- Bonnie Sue and Linda. There are three Linda's in that class. Talk about confusing!!
Notes From my Office
I had my usual whirl wind week, but a productive one. I got one 20x24 painting completed. I organized a food demonstration on Saturday, my wonderful painting class at 3 on Saturday, and managed to rearrange the entire studio, so I'm posting this propped up in bed with my tablet computer, taking advantage of a morning off.
I also managed to do a fair amount of marketing research during the week. I am taking the advice and slowly applying it to my web site and my signage at the loft studio. I share this with my mentoring group.
Visits and sales are slowly picking up at the loft. I sold three paintings on Saturday. Yay!! One of the things I learned in my research is that you get better results in your offerings if you give an added bonus rather than lowering your prices or giving % off. I thought that was very interesting. So, my February offer is to purchase a 9x12 framed painting and get an unframed 5x7 inch painting as a bonus.
I have learned to study business and marketing in the non art sector. Most all of the art marketing stuff is pretty much the same. Studying business in the non art field has given me so much more.
